Background
[Applicant A] is a Chinese citizen who was living in Korea and wished to study in New Zealand on a full fee paying basis. Because she was applying from outside New Zealand and her nationality and country of residence were different, the application needed careful preparation and a large supporting bundle.
Our approach
We prepared a detailed cover letter and a large supporting bundle covering her study purpose, her funding, and her tuition and course details. We made sure her Chinese identity documents and her Korean residence were consistent and easy to follow, and we coordinated the application with the New Zealand based education agent involved in her case.

Lessons
An application made from overseas needs more than the bare minimum, because the officer cannot meet the applicant and relies on the paperwork to tell the story. When someone holds one nationality but lives in another country, their identity and residence documents have to reconcile so there is no doubt about who they are. And at the heart of any student case is a clear study plan backed by genuine, well evidenced funds.
