Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has announced a targeted change to the Active Investor Plus Visa that will allow Growth category investors to include a small amount of philanthropy as part of their investment. According to INZ, the change is intended to support high value investment in New Zealand.
From 1 June 2026, new applicants in the Growth category will be able to include philanthropy, capped at 20 percent of their total investment. INZ says this keeps the focus on investments that grow New Zealand’s economy, while allowing a small portion to support eligible charities and conservation projects.
INZ says safeguards will ensure that philanthropic investments are genuine, meet eligibility requirements, and do not personally benefit applicants.
